Education in Nigeria

While the government provides tuition for elementary and some high school education, students must provide their own desks and uniforms, which can present a financial hardship. The distance to get to school can often exceed 7 miles one way, and the children often do not have shoes to walk, so will walk barefoot.  In addition, the students often lack books, and other needed school supplies. At the collegiate level, many struggle to go to school; as little as $350 – $500 can provide a year of college education.

It costs as little as $350-$500 to provide a full year of college tuition in Nigeria
It costs $100 USD to send 1 Primary Student to school for a year.
A Primary School Uniform cost $10.00 USD

Our accomplishments

  • Education was the initial charter for ImaBridge Africa.

  • The funds raised to date provide tuition for the less fortunate in the rural areas of Nigeria.

  • Over the years, we have supported about 100 students through college scholarships

  • We have also provided desks, school supplies and books.

  • We have provided many bicycles to make the journey to school shorter for these children.
  • In 2021 ImaBridge Africa visited Mfonobong Academy and fed lunch to the students, teachers and staff and was able to provide all students with writing pencils and paper.
  • Additionally, ImaBridge Africa in partnership with OWUDA was able to donate 30 student desks.
  • ImaBridge provided educational scholarships to over 38 university students in 2021 and over 400 in total. Many of these students are the first in their family to attend college.
